KUALA LUMPUR, October 10, 2023 – The state of Perak today launched Perak Internal Wrapping ETS at KL Sentral as part of an effort to promote the upcoming Visit Perak Year 2024. The launch event was officiated by YB Tuan Loh Sze Yee, Chairman of the Perak Tourism, Industry, Investment, and Corridor Development Committee, representing the Chief Minister of Perak.
Perak is the first state to feature such advertisements within the entire compartments of the ETS trains, as part of an initiative to raise awareness about the tourism destinations in the state.
Choosing ETS as the promotional medium aligns with the domestic market target, with more than 11,000 passengers using this service daily, covering the northern, central, and southern regions of Peninsular Malaysia with 32 service frequencies. Some major ETS stations in Perak include Ipoh, Taiping, and Batu Gajah.
Advertising inside ETS highlights six distinct tourism segments in Perak, including heritage, food, natural beauty, family vacations, and handicrafts. It is expected to capture the visibility of approximately 200,000 riders each month, thus enhancing the promotion of Perak’s tourist attractions.
During this launch event, Tourism Perak also provided special Perak dishes such as Rendang Tok, Ipoh White Coffee, Kacang Buntong, and HOVID health products for the attendees.
Furthermore, Tourism Perak introduced and launched a new Perak tourism mascot named “KOPITA”, derived from a combination of “kopi tarik” and “tapir,” and it comes as the partner of the previous Perak mascot, “KOPIRO”.
Tourism Perak also distributed a 2024 event calendar, listing over 100 tourism events taking place throughout the state to ETS passengers to further create awareness of Visit Perak Year 2024.
The State Government’s initiatives to expand the Visit Perak Year 2024 campaign don’t end here. Various programs and activities have been planned at the district, state, and international levels in collaboration with various parties, including local authorities, NGOs, associations, and more, with the goal of achieving 8.0 million domestic and 350,000 international tourist arrivals in the coming year.
