Just a few minutes drive from the modern capital of Ipoh is a curious artefact from the Stone Age. Like the urban wall murals of today, the Gunung Panjang rock art depicts the life of the times — human and animal activity amongst other abstract images.
In 2009, researchers from University Sains Malaysia examined the wall with high-resolution digital image analysis and identified over 600 distinct prehistoric art elements.
