Currency

The Malaysian currency is called Ringgit (Malay: Ringgit Malaysia, abbreviated as RM); the coin is 5 cents, 10 cents, 20 cents and 50 cents; and the banknotes are RM1, RM5, RM10, RM20, RM50 and RM100.

Communication Language

The residents in Perak can communicate in 2 main languages. Malay is their national language and English is widely spoken among the residents.

Climate

Perak has a tropical rainforest climate that is hot, humid and rainy all year round. Temperature differences are small throughout the year, averaging between 24 and 32 degrees Celcius.

The wet season is from October to December and the hottest month is May to August.

When going out, it is best to carry a raincoat, umbrella, sunscreen and sunglasses to protect yourself from the rain and sun.

Travellers are advised to purchase a local telco sim card at the airport or any local telco shops to access fast 5G and 4G LTE internet.
